Mexico City is the capital of Mexico (United Mexican States).
In 1535 the Viceroyalty of New Spain was created and Mexico City was developed on top of the old Mexico-Tenochtitlan and capital of the Viceroyalty.
In 1545, through a royal decree, it was recognized as Very Noble, Distinguished, Very Loyal and Imperial by Charles I of Spain.
It seems that the territory was occupied by humans for more than 10,000 years.
Mexico City-Tenochtitlan seems to have been in the 19th century. XIV.
